FORT CASIMIR & THE STRUGGLE FOR THE DELAWARE VALLEY

This exhibition will explore New Castle's European beginnings through the history of Fort Casimir, established in 1651 by the Dutch. The exhibit highlights the history of the fort, conflicts that it was involved in, and recent archaeological investigations that have shed new light on the fort and the lives of 17th century European settlers in the New Castle area.

Not solely focused on modes of transportation, The Perfection of Travelling presents the differing perspectives and experiences of various people through original journals, images and artifacts.
